Friend, none of us has dared to state that we have not done more than our share in ruining what was once a fine and thriving board. However, we have seen many changes, and many more have rippled through us so that now we have come upon a time not of terrors, but of love. Love with Us. Join Us. Become Us. Be Us.
Ok, i've tried to read this thread taking you seriously. Maybe i'm dumb, but i believe in giving everyone a chance.
The thing is, with all considered, do you deserve a chance?
You might have gone to a no turning back point. This thread may NOT be a "public apology", just a statement of intent, but the thing is: even if it was a public apology, how many people have been hindered by your general immaturity in the past, to even take it seriously and consider it?
I'm a SA user. Not for Goonfleet in general, but i have (or was it my alt?) applied to be a Goon. In a very honest way.
The minute i joined your public channel, someone looked at my corp history and mocked me.
So, please, don't come and whine about how people mock you and look down on you. You have, in COUNTLESS times, made fun of people without taking into account the person behind the 'internet spaceship'. You know the Peter and the Wolf story, right? As of now, Goons are Peter. Just live with it. Don't try to say that you've changed, as your past actions have created holes in the relation with other players. And for crying out loud, be men enough to admit it (some of you can do it, i'm sure), and don't try to change it in a day.
This is not a rant. This is my 0.2isk, take with a grain of salt, but you asked, and this is an honest answer.
On a bright side, you did me wrong, and i dont feel grudges for anyone. This is a game. But the rememberance of ill words and not funny jokes stays.
Just keep in mind that if you -REALLY- about changing the views everyone has about you, your antics in the Fanfest will not help you. Most players who are indeed mature (albeit playing for "fun") might take it as too much. This is not bad, this is not good, it's just reality.
And i think we all know that, at the end of the day, we logoff from 'internet spaceships' and still have reality to face.
Anyway, i diverge.
Best of luck to you, i always considered your "concept" to be valid (even with, like you already said, many members drifting from it, but hey, that's bound to happen).
